Question: How do I know if my EWV-2000 has the midi velocity update chip installed?

Answer: With the power off hold down the BACKWARD Button as you turn on the module. The display will read: Ver-l 08-OCT-87 if you have the update. Any date earlier than this means you do not have the velocity update. The velocity update allows you to send midi velocity to other external synths. If you spend the time tweaking the sound an external synth (make sure your synth receives velocity information) to respond to velocity you can sometimes bypass the EXT IN an the EWV-2000.
