"Glide plate and Bend plate over-sensitivity"
Question:  The glide and bend plates on my EWI seem to be hyper-sensitive. If I even glance them on a fast run I can get unexpected results. I especially have a problem with the bend plates.
Answer: The first thing to do is check the adjustment of the sensitivity knobs for glide and bend. Experiment with a slightly higher setting. The next thing to try is moving the bend plates to a little wider position. To do this, simply loosen the screw on the bend plate move the plate and its mounting, then re-tighten the screw. The last thing to try is putting a piece of Scotch tape over the bend plates and the glide plates. This will make them a little less sensitive to touch. You can also use clear nail polish. Be certain not to cover the ground (earth) plate with anything as it may lead to improper grounding which causes all kinds of problems. This problem is more common to the EWI-1000 as Akai coated the bend and glide plates on the 3000 and 3020 and also provided a "key delay" setting.
