"MIDI Aftertouch, Breath and Volume"

Question: What does MIDI AFTERTOUCH, BREATH, and VOLUME do?

Answer: These are parameters accessed from the EWV-2000 via the white MIDI button. Selecting one of these options by using the VALUE Down/Up buttons you can alter the sound of an external synthesizer through MIDI control. AFTERTOUCH affects the sound after the initial attack. Typically, you can program aftertouch to alter pitch, filtering, volume, or vibrato.

BREATH, like aftertouch, can alter pitch, filtering, volume or vibrato based on how you route your breath parameter on the external synth.

VOLUME affects the continuous volume of a sound in direct proportion to the amount of wind sensed by the EWI/EVI.

Note: The above functions only affect external synths -- they do not alter the sounds of the EWV-2000 itself. However, to find the proper amount of midi data to send you may need to explore different settings on the blue BREATH, GLIDE, VIBRATE, and BEND knobs.
