"Hi Pass Filter Readout"

Question: The readout on the HI PASS filter (parameter 2) will not change from "OO". I understand that there might be a capacitor problem. What do you recommend?

Answer: There was a change of a capacitor between the prototype EWV-2000s and the production models. However, all EWV-2000s that have been distributed by IMC should contain the later capacitor. You should get your unit to an authorized service center so that they can check it out, or contact the Akai Service Department at IMC for a return authorization so we can see the module here.

If you have this problem, here's a way to fix it yourself. The capacitor mentioned is the High Pass Filter capacitor which is located on the main circuit board at C-44 and C-69. Check these two capacitors. If they are marked ".1", change them to ".01". You should be able to find the proper substitute at Radio Shack.
