Akai EWI 4000s - Lowest Price
Akai released the new all-in-one EWI4000s to the world market in March, 2006 and it has turned the world of wind synthesis on it's head. You can buy it right here for the lowest non-advertised price on the web. Yes, it's lower than Patchman Music. Click the "buy now" button to see the price. ewi-evi.com is an authroized Akai EWI dealer and we are dedicated to not only selling the instrument but helping you get started and supporting you as you develop as a player.

This all new EWI has a host of new features the most surprising of which is that it has a synth module built in to the controller with 100 "virtual analog" sounds. It also has direct midi connections, battery power; chorus, reverb and delay built in, and audio out right from the controller. It also had a headphone out on it the controller for stand alone practicing. Another huge plus is that it includes a visual editor that makes editing and saving patches a snap!

I have spent over a year now with the 4000s and and I can say with confidence after playing the EWI for 21 years now, that this is an excellent instrument, the best EWI Akai has made both as a stand-alone and as a MIDI controller. They have also managed to crush the price barrier with this one. You should pay right around $699.00 US for it.

Check out what Rippingtons' alum and solo saxophone great has to say about his tenure with the rippingtons, composing on his own and how the EWI played a role in his development as a musician.

An interview with EVI giant Judd Miller. Judd has been involved from the inception of these intruments and is one of the most active studio players out there. We'll see what he has to say soon.

The very rare EWV2000, EWI1000, EVI1000 video manual is now being posted. Many thanks to Sam Zambito for this great item. The files are Flash 6 video to trim file size, but you'll still want a high bandwidth connection for these.

The patches and set-ups sections are still under construction. If you have some patches you'd like to share with others, please send them so they can be posted. There will soon be a new "patch exchange" section dedicated to exchanging FREE 4000s patches. The new software based 4000s makes it super simple to save and share banks of patches. We will also soon be adding a user forum as a place to share information and get answers to questions.
